Pendik Belediyesi, şehri meyve ağaçlarıyla donatmak üzere çalışma başlattı. Geçen yıl Çamlık Mahallesi’nde Meyve Bahçesi Projesini hayata geçiren belediye, şimdi de ilçedeki parklara kısa süre içinde meyve verecek  fidanlar dikiyor.   

Özellikle genç nesillerin meyve ağaçlarını tanımalarını sağlamak, unutulmuş tarım kültürünü yeniden canlandırmak amacıyla yürütülen çalışmalar neticesinde parklarda elma, erik, armut, kiraz ve ceviz ağaçları büyüyecek. Her mahallede en az iki parka olmak üzere toplamda 50 parka bir ayın içinde 250 meyve fidanı dikilecek.  Büyük olarak ekilen fidanlar, 1 yılda ilk meyvelerini verecek.

Meyve ağaçlarının dikimine Çamlık Mahallesi’nde bulunan “Kosovalı Şehit Adem Yaşari Parkı”ndan başlandı. Belediyenin fidanlığından getirilen 8 ağaç,  Çevre Koruma ve Kontrol Müdürlüğü ekipleri tarafından parkta belirlenen yerlere dikilerek dipleri de özel toprak karışımıyla kapladı. Çevre halkı, parkta diğer ağaçların arasında artık elma, kiraz ve ceviz ağaçlarının da büyümesini görecek.

Kent yaşamı içinde meyve bahçesi

Pendik Belediyesi tarafından Çamlık Mahallesi’nde 2 bin 500 metrekarelik alanda kurulan meyve bahçesi de ilk meyvelerini vererek kent yaşamı içinde bölgeye adeta bir vaha görünümü kazandırdı. Birçok meyvenin dalında görülmesini sağlamak üzere geçen yıl erik, şeftali, elma, ceviz, kiraz, ayva, muşmula, armut ve hürnap gibi 300 meyve ağacının dikildiği alanda çevre düzenleme çalışmaları devam ediyor.
