Fransız Ressam Melling’in 200 yıllık İstanbul Gravürleri,  Mehmet Akif Ersoy Sanat Merkezi’nde sergilenmeye başlandı.  1838 ve 1860 yılına ait orijinal gravür kitaplarının da yer aldığı sergi,  1800’lerin sosyal yaşamı ve mimari yapılarına ışık tutuyor.

Mehmet Akif Ersoy Sanat Merkezi bu kez “19 yy. İstanbul Panoramaları ve Melling Gravürleri” adlı sergiye ev sahipliği yapıyor. Fransız Ressam ve Mimar Antonie İgnace Melling’e ait eserlerde İstanbul’un 200 yıl önceki sosyal yaşamı ve mimari yapıları anlatılıyor. Kimi gravürde Beşiktaş’taki yazlık saray kiminde ise İstanbul’da bir alay düğünü yer alıyor. Açılışını Belediye Başkan Yardımcısı Süleyman Pergel’in yaptığı sergide bilgi veren Küratör Saadettin Karaata,  ilk kez bu kadar kapsamlı gravürlerin tek bir sergide yer aldığını ifade ederek Pendik Belediyesine ilgisinden ötürü teşekkür etti.

200 yıllık orijinal gravür kitabı ilgi çekiyor

30 Kasım’a kadar açık kalacaksergide dikkat çeken eserler arasında Fransız Yazar Julia Pardoe’ye ait 1838 ve 1860 basımı orijinal gravür kitapları da bulunuyor. Aradan 200 yıl geçmesine rağmen neredeyse hiç yıpranmamış şekilde sergilenen kitaplar, içerikleri kadar dönemin matbaa teknolojisine de ışık da tutuyor.

İstanbul’a âşık oldu

Gravürleri yapan Fransız Ressam ve Mimar Antonie İgnace Melling’in (1763-1831) sanat hayatı da en az sergi kadar dikkat çekiyor. Osmanlı İmparatorluğunda yıllarca sanatkâr olarak çalışan Melling’in İstanbul aşkı, Fransa’ya dönüşünde sergideki eserleri yapmasına ilham veriyor. Sanatçının gravüleri hem bir sanat eseri hem de döneme ışık tutan birer belge olarak nitelendiriliyor.
